Don’t say his name!

After unveiling an eerie poster, Universal has now released the full trailer for its upcoming horror film, “Candyman,” and it’s a frightening look.

The film is a direct sequel to the 1992 horror film, which itself is based on a Clive Barker short story, “The Forbidden.” Both films deal with the legend of the Candyman, a vengeful spirit who was killed decades prior for engaging in illicit interracial affairs.

In the 2020 version, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (“Watchmen”), stars as a young artist in Chicago. He finds the Candyman legend, and its gentrified Chicago neighborhood, to be a source of inspiration for his work. However, his life takes a startling turn after the story he thought was just a legend begins to take shape in the real world.

Co-written and produced by horror maestro Jordan Peele, the film was directed by Nia DaCosta, and by the looks of the trailer, it’s a job well done.
