Back in January, Netflix brought us the detailed account of Ted Bundy, one of the most infamous serial killers in U.S. history. The mini documentary series, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, covered everything from Ted Bundy’s upbringing and early life to his crimes, trial and, eventually, his execution. Viewers like myself got a look inside the thoughts of Bundy as we listened to recordings of his conversation while on death row. For those that did not grow up learning about Bundy’s heinous crimes, the mini series provided everything you could ever be curious about in regards to the case.
Now Netflix is set to release the crime drama starring Zac Efron as Bundy, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, this Friday, May 3. Lily Collins stars alongside Efron as Bundy’s long term girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer. The film’s approach to telling the horrific story of Bundy is through the perspective of Kloepfer, setting it apart from other accounts of his life. This different perspective is sure to shed even more light on the story, especially considering that the actual Kloepfer had met the cast and visited the set, sure to have given her insight. For those that are intrigued by true crime and the previous Bundy tapes series, this dramatization is sure to be a thrilling depiction of this infamous time.
