The alliance of fashion and sustainable development by Stella Mccartney coming soon…

A new chapter for Stella McCartney, is committed to sustainable innovation for her collections. The brand created the world’s first biodegradable stretch denim. The London designer is collaborating with Italian brand Candiani to create environmentally friendly stretch denim using plant-based yarns. Stella McCartney will introduce the innovative denim in the Fall/Winter 2020 collection.

The fabric is created by Candiani using organic cotton wrapped around a natural rubber, free from plastics and micro-plastics. The owner of the Candiani family says “In a world where resources are diminishing and landfills are overflowing with discarded garments, it’s our duty to look for renewable resources, in addition to biodegradable and compostable materials.

The brand’s current denim range is made using 100 per cent organic cotton, but the process involved in producing it requires a huge volume of water and toxic dyes and chemicals to create just one pair of jeans.

The Coreva Stretch Technology is produced in a safe, toxic-free environment, using organic cotton wrapped around a natural rubber core.

The fashion industry is revolutionizing.

The new denim will be available in ten pieces from Stella McCartney’s Fall 2020 collection and will be available in stores and on website from May 2020.
