A million Spotify listeners…Singers may release dozens of songs trying to reach this milestone. Some may get lucky and reach this milestone off their first hit song. Blue Ivy did this without ever even releasing her own music.
If you’re far far away from the pop culture bubble, you may not know that Blue Ivy is the first daughter of Jay Z and Beyoncé. The 8-year-old is not shy to being featured on her parent’s songs.
Just two days after being born Blue Ivy’s vocals were credited on her dad’s song, Glory. She became the youngest person to every chart on Billboard. Yes, that means she’s been breaking chart records at just two days old.
Blue Ivy has also been on Blue’s Freestyle/We Family and Legacy for Jay Z. For her mother, Blue Ivy appeared on the singer’s 2014 song, Blue. She’s also featured on the legendary live album Homecoming on Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing!
Through all these features only one is credited on Blue Ivy’s Spotify page. From The Lion King: The Gift, alongside her mother, SAINt JHN and WizKid. Of all her features this is the only one where she’s credited as a lyricist. This song was just enough to tip Blue Ivy’s Spotify listeners over the million mark.
It’s unclear where Blue Ivy will go with her career since she’s so young, but if she plans to follow in her parents’ footsteps in the music industry, she’s off to a great start.
