Continuing to build anticipation for his forthcoming sophomore album is Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter Jazz Cartier, with a brand new single titled, “Basement”.

Produced by Lil Rich (DaBaby, YG, Cousin Stizz), the track serves as the second single off of Cartier’s upcoming album that is expected to arrive early next year. Last month, the young artist released the first single off the album called, “Disclosure”, which was produced by Coop The Truth (Wale, YBN Cordae, Summer Walker), BNYX (Ty Dolla $ign, Shy Glizzy), and Halfway (Guapdad 4000).

In addition to releasing the new track, Jazz has also teamed up with the IOS App, Jadu, to release a self-performing hologram—allowing fans to perform his latest singles, “Basement” and “Disclosure” alongside him, in the comfort of their own living room.

“Basement” details the turbulent journey that many rappers take as they try to make a name for themselves in the music industry. The single encapsulates the entire journey—from learning who to trust, as well as remembering to stay steadfast and loyal.

When speaking about the track, Cartier added:

“Basement” is me looking into the mirror, seeing how far I’ve come and knowing I still have more to go!”
