In case you were still in denial, have no more fear, because “The Batman” is here!
Director Matt Reeves has released the first look at Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader. The noir-tinged, red-saturated camera test footage features R-Patz donning the Bat-suit, which I gotta admit, looks pretty kick ass.
Pattinson does a simple turn, it’s merely a 45 degree angle, but it’s just powerful. The footage is anchored by Michael Giacchino’s moody orchestral composition, one that only leaves the listener wanting more. It’s quite the feat; Giacchino is mostly known for his Pixar work, so to make the switch to more, mature sounds is surprising to see.
“The Batman” will be included in Warner Bros. DCEU (a note to make, as last year’s “Joker,” while a Warner Bros. and DC effort, was not a part of the DCEU). Reeve’s inspiration for his vision rests solely on the classic comic book ideal of Batman, as “the world’s greatest detective.”
The film is scheduled for a June 25, 2021 release date and will also star Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson. What a cast.
