Photographer Doris Himmelbauer creates unique visual stories while bringing diverse cultures, subcultures and cityscapes into a whole new context.

In this editorial Tokyo born and London based Designer Michiyo Hayes Kuramochi brought pieces of her new upcycled collection back to their roots and onto the streets of Tokyo. Kuramochi´s label foremost uses pre 80´s post 90´s second hand, found deadstock and discontinued roll-ends of British suiting wools and Japanese kimono materials. „I first met Michiyo in 2019 in New York, while shooting NYFW. I have photographed a runway show with her, at this time current collection and I knew, that this would be a perfect fit. I love playing with contradictions. The airiness of the kimono together with those bold colours and the mix of traditional and modern cuts really struck me and I knew I had to bring that to its place of origin“ so Himmelbauer.
