Happy Friday everyone! Oh boy is it a good one. Up and coming artist, MASN, has just released his new song “PSYCHO!” feat. Trippie Redd. Kick back, relax, and enjoy this new song release as it transports you through a beautiful musical journey! Having many people by his side throughout this journey, MASN is ready to show the world what he is really made of. Stay tuned!
First release for you at RCA Records. How does it feel?
Euphoric. “Psycho!” came out over a year ago and the journey has been surreal but I’m ready to release all the music I’ve been working on. RCA has been so welcoming and supportive. Trippie Redd has been one of my favorite artists since High School and to have him on the remix is really cool.
When did you know you wanted to become an artist?
I don’t think one becomes an artist, I think we all always are in some way. I decided to bring it into the foreground about a year and a half ago at the end of high school after an injury derailed my goals in football. The 6 songs I released are the first 6 songs I’ve ever written or recorded. I’m excited to start releasing all this music I’m sitting on.
If nervous, how do you overcome it?
I have to mentally invent the guy who can handle any of the toughest pressures, anxieties, and judgements and embrace it and be him completely.
What do you hope to accomplish as a singer?
I want to perform in stadiums and showcase my world to the rest of the world. I want to create a refreshing, authentic, vulnerable and safe space for people to come to and enter through the music.
Describe your style for us. Favorite piece of clothing in your wardrobe?
I worked construction for two years building bridges in the cold so lots of Carhartt. My go to pants are either my black dickies 874 regular fit or my vintage levi’s. My fav piece overall is this oversized blue Corduroy shirt I randomly picked up at a thrift shop.
During quarantine, what is a random thing you find yourself doing?
Playing with my lighters. For some reason I’ve always been obsessed with fire and it calms me down when I’m stressed to just sit and watch the flame.
Who do you look up to the most?
I look up to a lot of people, friends and family, old bosses and old football coaches. Any figure in my life who has taught me to work hard and do my best. I also look up to my Mom for teaching me to be honest and make good decisions.
We are five years from now. Where are you and what are you doing?
I’m in Kauai hiking the Napali Coast eating diced mangoes overlooking a killer sunset before going back into the studio that night to record album number 5.
