The Annual Calendar Benefits Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue

Sergi Constance is best known to movie fans as Zeus from the Justice League films, however, the larger-than-life physique model has also graced the cover of multiple fitness and style magazines including Muscle & Fitness, Muscle Insider, Men’s Physique, Iron Man, and the latest issue of Photobook Magazine. Now, add calendar cover model to his resume as Sergi Constance graces the cover of the 2025 Mutts & Muscles calendar.

Once again, the annual Mutts & Muscles calendar brings together strength, beauty, and heart for a cause that extends beyond the camera lens. This year’s calendar, benefiting Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, features a host of fitness models with rescue dogs, all captured through the lens of fashion photographer Mike Ruiz. It’s not just a celebration of fitness, it’s a powerful call to action to save lives and raise awareness about the urgent need to save man’s best friend.

Mike Ruiz, who has been championing the rescue cause for over a decade, speaks passionately about how the calendar was born out of his own experience with his own rescue animal. “After adopting Oliver in 2012, who ultimately became my soul dog, I quickly became aware of the crisis in this country caused by gross human failure, reckless overfeeding, and zero enforcement of animal protection laws,” he says. “One of the many ways I advocate for animals is by doing this calendar. It’s a fun way to deliver the somber message that over 3.5 million dogs and cats are euthanized every year in the U.S., making education and advocacy critical.”

The Mutts & Muscles calendar is about harnessing art to give a voice to the voiceless. “I honestly feel that everything I’ve achieved would be for nothing if I didn’t use it to benefit the greater good somehow,” Ruiz continues. For him, knowing that his work directly helps save dogs lives is, in his words, “intoxicating.”

At the heart of this year’s calendar is Sergi Constance, who brings his own unique blend of super hero power to the project. Sergi’s journey from bodybuilding to acting has been one of focus and discipline, and he brings those same qualities to the cause of animal rescue. “For the Mutts & Muscles calendar, it was about bringing energy and strength to a cause that really matters,” Sergi says. His connection with the cause runs deep. “Rescuing animals takes a lot of compassion and commitment, which aligns with my belief in helping those who are vulnerable,” he explains. “Supporting causes like Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue feels personal. It’s not just about showing strength on screen, but also being strong enough to make a difference in real life.”

Ruiz recalls how Sergi’s love for animals shone through during their time together in Spain. “Sergi insisted that we visit a local shelter to photograph dogs in need so we could share them on social media in hopes of getting them adopted,” Ruiz explains. “Watching a kind-hearted and beautiful man like Sergi hold a sweet pup is the most gratifying thing I could ever imagine doing as a photographer.”
For Sergi, being part of the calendar is about empowering others to act. “I hope my fans see that it’s important to use whatever platform or influence you have to support causes that matter,” he says. “With this calendar, it’s not just about the visuals, it’s about the lives we can change together.”
