Last night’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event hosted a slew of style icons including Gigi Hadid, Tan France, Ashley Graham and Rihanna. Attendees came out serving looks to celebrate fashion’s brightest and most promising acts. More importantly, the CFDA crowned a new winner of the Fashion Fund, Christopher John Rogers. Rogers took home a grand prize of $400,000 and a year of mentorship from a member of the CFDA. The annual award is a program which aims to support up and coming designers launch their careers. This year, serving on the CFDA panel were legends such as Anna Wintour, Diane Von Furstenburg, and Eva Chen.

The dinner and fashion show were held at Capriani South Street and featured exuberant performances by the models and 10 finalists. Rogers awaited in the crowd until a confetti machine launched glitter into the air and announced his victory. The 25 year-old is known for his voluminous evening gowns and eye-catching colors with unique shapes and silhouettes. His pieces have been worn by high profile celebrities like Lizzo and Michelle Obama, and are sure to become more widespread this year. The Brooklyn-based designer is set to catapult his career with the help of this award and his immense talent. The runner-ups, Danielle Frankel and Reese Cooper, will also win a monetary prize and mentorship.
