On October 18th, rising pop star Elle Winter released the latest single off of her upcoming EP, “Thought of Me.” The new single was written by Elle alongside the critically acclaimed duo The JAM, who have written for the likes of Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey. The New York City born native has had a big year, as “Thought of Me” follows a string of debut singles including “Sick of You” and “Do You.” The single is a chilled-out tune that invites listeners to embrace the beauty of their imperfections. “Thought of Me” reflects on how we portray ourselves on social media and such which hides what’s truly underneath, and it’s okay that we’re not all perfect.
Elle Winter was discovered on Radio Disney at the young age of 12 and went on to compete in their “Next Big Thing” competition. Now at age 20, the young artist has collaborated with several distinguished songwriters and producers for a strong body of work that has led outlets to rave about her prowess. In 2018, Winter’s single “One More” landed her a spot on The Today Show and named her Elvis Duran’s Artist of the Month. She’s also branched out into acting, landing roles in 3 Generations, Code Red, and The After Party. The future is looking bright for this shining star, who by the way, has an Instagram feed just as good as her music.
Elle Winter’s EP is set to come out early next year via Sony’s Red Music. MTV calls her music a “confectionary slice of funky liberation” and if that doesn’t spark your interest I don’t know what will. In the meantime, listen to “Thought of Me” and “try not to stan this rising star”- Nylon.
