ABC network is reportedly in early talks with Marvel’s Kevin Feige on developing a new superhero series.
The network’s entertainment president Karey Burke announced that while they’re sad to see “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” go, “it’s been a big part of our history. We’re looking forward to working with Kevin Feige and we’re at the very beginning of conversations with him now about what a Marvel and ABC show might look like.”
Marvel is currently preoccupied with Disney+, which launched back in November. Presently on the roster for upcoming shows are “The Falcon and Winter Soldier,” “She-Hulk,” “Moon Knight,” and “WandaVision.” With the exception of She-Hulk and Moon Knight, these are characters that have already been adapted for the screen.
This announcement comes after Marvel Television, which produced “Agents” closed its doors in December. ABC’s plans for a female-led superhero series with Marvel has now stalled, with this new superhero series to be the network’s priority. Although there is no specific comic book character, Burke said the character would have to be “something brand new.”
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is set to end after its upcoming seventh season.
