When producing a shoot, let me just tell you….it takes a great team and an even better photographer. Young in age and wise in talent, the French photographer, Dylan Perlot, always brings it. Having been in this industry for quite some time now, he has exceeded all expectations through his work from international covers to editorial shoots and receiving awards. His work illustrates talent, beauty, and that edginess we all long for. He sat with us at VULKAN to discuss his purpose as a photographer alongside his many triumphs.
As he expressed, “I’ve had the honor to have my work published in: Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam, Cosmopolitan Mexico, Vogue Italia, L’Officiel, V Man, Nylon, Numéro Berlin among others. I’ve also had the pleasure to shoot for brands like: Diesel, Fashion Nova, Buttah Skin, American Rag Cie, Glaudi, Megan Renee, Disturbia etc. Every magazine or brand I work with is always a big achievement for me.” Each one of these productions came out fruitful and mind-blowing.
Perlot discovered his passion at a very young age and set on his path when he first came to Los Angeles at the age of 18. “I think you need to be in the right environment to discover your true self. Being surrounded by artists and admiring the work of famous photographers made me understand that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life,” he shared. One of his first shoots was in Paris for an online magazine, a moment that would change his life forever. As he opened up wholeheartedly, “I felt like it was the beginning of being recognized for my work and talent, and there is no other feeling that compares when you’re an artist.” From that point on, there was no turning back.
Magazine covers, celebrity encounters, Perlot’s hard work does not go unrecognized! He has won many awards such as Best Photograph at MOODY CRAB FILM FEST (India), at L’AGE D’OR INTERNATIONAL ARTHOUSE FILM FESTIVAL (India), Best Experimental at LOS ANGELES MOVIE AWARDS (USA), and Merit Award at INTERNATIONAL NEW YORK FILM FESTIVAL (USA), to name a few. This year, he was also part of the jury of an art competition called “Camelback Gallery” and signed with the well known artist agency “Exclusive Artists” in the US. Between awards and being a finalist in different competitions, Perlot has also had his work showcased in different exhibitions such as at PANORÀMIC FESTIVAL (Barcelona, Spain) which is currently going on.
Dylan Perlot brings to you talent like never before as he makes his way to the top in the world of art. Through his beautiful experiences, he has learned many things and as he expressed with a warm heart, “I’ve learned that it’s all about telling a story and being creative. Thinking outside the box to create a unique concept is the key.” More than that, he has also learned much “about collaborating with other creatives. Whether it’s with a wardrobe stylist, makeup-artist, hairstylist, creative director, or model, all those people are part of the process and it’s amazing seeing us all working together to achieve a client’s vision.”
