A new address on Canon Drive where dining, music, and atmosphere move as one, shaping a different rhythm for Beverly Hills after dark.

BEVERLY HILLS — Canon Drive continues to evolve as one of the most active dining corridors on the Westside, and Azur Beverly Hills is one of its newest arrivals. Open since March 28, with an official ribbon-cutting set for April 22, the French-Mediterranean restaurant and lounge introduces a format that blends dinner service with a more structured late-evening atmosphere.

Located in the Golden Triangle, Azur leans into a familiar Los Angeles demand: places where the night doesn’t require a second destination.

A Dinner Service That Extends Into the Evening

Azur is built around continuity. The restaurant operates as a traditional dining room early in the evening, then gradually shifts in tone as the night progresses. Music becomes more present, the bar gains momentum, and the space takes on a different pace without a hard transition.

Live performances and DJ sets are part of the programming, supported by a VOID Acoustic sound system that keeps audio consistent across the room rather than concentrated in one area. The intention is to maintain conversation while still allowing the energy to build.

A Mediterranean Menu with a French Point of View

The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Stanley Suchy, with a menu developed by French chef Éric Cuenin. The direction is straightforward: Mediterranean cooking with a focus on seasonality and wood-fire techniques.

The menu centers on shareable dishes. Seafood plays a key role, alongside grilled vegetables and lighter preparations built around olive oil, herbs, and citrus. It’s a format that suits groups and longer dinners, aligning with the overall concept of staying in one place for the evening.

The beverage program follows a similar approach, with a selection of French wines, champagne, and cocktails designed to complement the food rather than compete with it.

A Space Designed for Beverly Hills

Azur’s layout balances indoor and outdoor dining, with a front terrace facing Canon Drive and a more contained interior dining room. The design draws from Mediterranean references without leaning into overt theming. Natural materials, softer lighting, and a neutral palette keep the space adaptable from day to night.

As the evening progresses, lighting lowers and the room becomes more intimate, supporting the shift toward a more social, lounge-driven atmosphere.

A Hospitality Team with a Proven Track Record

Azur is led by Erik and Florence Chol, who have been active in Los Angeles hospitality for years. Their past projects include the revival of The Globe Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, which became a major multi-event venue, as well as LouLou in Santa Monica, a restaurant that has built a steady following since opening in 2022.

With Azur, the approach is more focused. The emphasis is on consistency across food, service, and atmosphere, rather than large-scale production.

A Format That Fits the City

Los Angeles has increasingly moved toward hybrid dining spaces that combine restaurant and nightlife elements. Azur fits within that trend, but with a more controlled execution.

It offers a clear proposition: a place to start the evening and stay through it. No reset, no relocation, no shift in setting.

On Canon Drive, that alone makes it worth noting.
