From gracing international campaigns to stepping into the world of acting and music videos, Cody has carved out a multifaceted career in the entertainment industry. With a passion for creativity and storytelling, he continues to explore new avenues to express himself. VULKAN sat down with him to talk about his journey, his role in Animal Kingdom, and what it was like working with the legendary Mariah Carey.
V: You’ve had a long career in modeling — how did it all start, and which campaigns have been the most memorable for you?
C: It started when I was in college. I got the opportunity to try modeling out, and I took a semester off from school and moved to Miami. Shortly after, I moved to LA and made that my home base. I loved the Diesel campaigns I did, but most of all the Make Love Not Walls campaign with photographer David LaChapelle, someone I admired and had always wanted to work with.
V: Besides modeling, you’ve also acted. Tell us about your experience on the series Animal Kingdom. What was it like being part of such a popular show?
C: Working on Animal Kingdom has been the highlight of my acting career so far. It was such a great show to be a part of, and I always had a great time on set. The other actors were amazing and it was a really nice crew. I was deeply grateful and humbled to be part of a show with such high-caliber talent.
V: Animal Kingdom is now streaming on Netflix. How has the response from viewers changed since it landed on the platform?
C: As I understand, as I write this Animal Kingdom is in the top 10 shows on Netflix! I think people love the show because it’s actually great — bias aside.
V: Congratulations on being in Mariah Carey’s new music video! How did that opportunity come about, and what was it like to work on that project?
C: The Mariah video was incredible. I got to work with director Joseph Kahn, and of course alongside the legend herself. Both were a joy to work with, and I was very happy with how the video came out! Again, another humbling opportunity that filled me with profound gratitude.
V: What drives you to keep exploring different sides of the entertainment industry — from modeling and acting to music videos?
C: What drives me is my desire to create and express myself. And to experience all that I can really while I’m here! It’s the coolest thing in the world to me to be able to do this job for work. I love the people I meet who share that same need and desire for artistic expression. I am blessed!
